Back then, you could not get away from Seven Nation Army at a shoe store in a mall, and who would have thought 20 years later it would be on classic rock stations and played by school bands at high school football games?

Take me back to February 17, 2003

Let's take a walk down memory lane.

The date is February 17, 2003, and it's a Monday. Babies who are born today will have the star sign Aquarius. The weekend has just passed, so some people are feeling a bit down. Others are tired after partying too much.

Valentine's Day of 2003 has just passed. In America, the song "All I Have" by Jennifer Lopez is at the top of the singles charts, while "All The Things She Said" by T.A.T.u. is the number-one song in the UK. George W. Bush Jnr. is the President of the United States, and the movie How to Lose a Guy is at the top of the box office.

Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. On television, people are watching popular shows such as "JAG", "Gilmore Girls", "The Osbournes", and "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service". In technology news, more and more people are beginning to gain access to the Internet. Internet speeds are increasing and MP3 sharing is beginning to threaten the existence of music stores.

People are using a software program called LimeWire to share music, software, and videos. Unfortunately, it is also a haven for computer viruses. Smartphones don't exist yet. There are no Androids or iPhones. Cameras on phones are quickly becoming the norm. However, the photographs that they take are still lacking in quality.

It's 2003, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of 50 Cent, R. Kelly, Sean Paul, 3 Doors Down, Nelly, Evanescence, Chingy and Beyonce. An American restaurant owner has recently attracted media attention by renaming "French Fries" as "Freedom Fries". This was in response to France's opposition to the invasion of Iraq. There is speculation that David Beckham may leave Manchester United. Reports suggest that the club's manager, Alex Ferguson, threw a boot at Beckham after the team's recent defeat against Arsenal.

If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Fred Rogers, Camoflauge, Barry White, and Bob Hope would all still be alive. People are playing video games such as "Kingdom Hearts", "Medieval: Total War", "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2", and "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell". Children and teenagers are watching television shows such as "Pokemon", "Bear in the Big Blue House", "That '70s Show", and "Invader Zim".

Children are playing with toys such as Gogo's Crazy Bones, What's Her Face (doll), Spider-Man Dual Action Web Blaster, and Lamaze Octotunes.
