Orion

Nelly Furtado owned the music charts in 2006 and 2007. Say It Right, Promiscuous, and Maneater dominated the charts that year. Maneater always reminds me of GameStop, as I was working there at the time and it was constantly playing on the radio. These were my early adult years, so it's unsettling to think that all of this was 17 years ago 😅

Take me back to April 25, 2006

Let's go back to the 2000s.

The date is April 25, 2006, and it's a Tuesday. Babies who are born today will have the star sign Taurus. The summer of 2006 is drawing closer and temperatures have started to rise.

In America, the song "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter is at the top of the singles charts, while "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley is the number-one song in the UK. George W. Bush Jnr. is the President of the United States, and the movie Silent Hill is at the top of the box office. Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

On television, people are watching popular shows such as "The West Wing", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", "Deadwood", and "Stargate Atlantis". People are using a software program called LimeWire to share music, software, and videos. Unfortunately, it is also a haven for computer viruses. Smartphones don't exist yet. There are no Androids or iPhones.

Internet users are using MSN Messenger and AIM to chat with each other online. Cameras on phones have now become the norm. Furthermore, the quality of these cameras is continuing to increase with each new phone release. We are now entering an age where any event can be instantly photographed or recorded. Practically every teenager and adult has a MySpace or Bebo account.

It's 2006, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of Daniel Powter, Sean Paul, Nelly Furtado, James Blunt, Gnarls Barkley, Shakira and Natasha Bedingfield. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Big Hawk, Charles Haughey, Steve Irwin, and Adrienne Shelly would all still be alive. People are playing video games such as "Shadow of the Colossus", "Guitar Hero", "Black", and "Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day!".

Children and teenagers are watching television shows such as "SpongeBob SquarePants", "Jimmy Neutron", "One Tree Hill", and "Drake & Josh". Children are playing with toys such as RoboSapien (toy robot), Tamagotchi Connection , Baby Annabell, and Dora's Talking House.
