Take me back to January 10, 2007

Let's take a stroll down memory lane.

It is Wednesday, January 10, 2007. Anyone born today will have the star sign Capricorn. It is "Hump Day", so many are beginning to think about the weekend ahead.

The Christmas holiday season is long over, the decorations have been taken down, and a sense of normality has returned. In America, the song "Irreplaceable" by Beyonce is at the top of the singles charts, while "A Moment Like This" by Leona Lewis is the number-one song in the UK. George W. Bush Jnr. is the President of the United States, and the movie Night at the Museum is at the top of the box office.

Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Practically every teenager and adult has a MySpace or Bebo account. A rock music genre called "Emo" is extremely popular at the moment. The genre, which stands for "emotional hardcore", has created a subculture of "Emos" who dye their hair black and wear thick-framed glasses.

Meanwhile, in technology news, more and more people are beginning to use the Internet on their phones. This transition towards mobile Internet has been aided by the recent roll-out of faster 3G networks and the introduction of larger touchscreen phones. It's 2007, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Sean Kingston, Soulja Boy and Nelly Furtado. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Bam Bam Bigelow, Anna Nicole Smith, Eddie Jamaal Griffin, and Luciano Pavarotti would all still be alive.

On TV, people are watching popular shows such as "Cold Case", "Lost", "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", and "Psych". Meanwhile, gamers are playing titles such as "Black", "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion", "Kingdom Hearts II", and "Final Fantasy XII". Kids and teenagers are watching TV shows such as "The Fairly OddParents", "American Dragon: Jake Long", "Go, Diego, Go!", and "Johnny Test".

Popular toys at the moment include VideoNow (portable player), Pixel Chix, Roboraptor, and the Nintendo Wii.
