Take me back to May 23, 2003

Let's take a walk down memory lane.

The date is May 23, 2003, and it's a Friday. Babies who are born today will have the star sign Gemini. Many people have "that Friday feeling" and are looking forward to the weekend.

The summer of 2003 has finally arrived. The weather has warmed up, and the evenings are brighter than usual. The school year is nearly finished. In the United States, it is the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. As a result, many Americans are looking forward to attending barbecues, picnics, and other outdoor events. In America, the song "Get Busy" by Sean Paul is at the top of the singles charts, while "Ignition" by R. Kelly is the number-one song in the UK.

George W. Bush Jnr. is the President of the United States, and the movie Bruce Almighty is at the top of the box office. Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. On television, people are watching popular shows such as "Everybody Loves Raymond", "King of the Hill", "Becker", and "Smallville".

In technology news, more and more people are beginning to gain access to the Internet. Internet speeds are increasing and MP3 sharing is beginning to threaten the existence of music stores. People are using a software program called LimeWire to share music, software, and videos. Unfortunately, it is also a haven for computer viruses. Smartphones don't exist yet. There are no Androids or iPhones.

Cameras on phones are quickly becoming the norm. However, the photographs that they take are still lacking in quality. It's 2003, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of 50 Cent, R. Kelly, Sean Paul, 3 Doors Down, Nelly, Evanescence, Chingy and Beyonce. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Barry White, Bob Hope, Charles Bronson, and John Ritter would all still be alive.

People are playing video games such as "RuneScape", "Kingdom Hearts", "Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven", and "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell". Kids and teenagers are watching TV shows such as "The Powerpuff Girls", "SpongeBob SquarePants", "My Wife and Kids", and "That's So Raven". Children are playing with toys such as HitClips audio player, FurReal Friends, Bionicle LEGO, and Kasey the Kinderbot.
