Aw man, I miss WCW Monday Nitro! I used to play the WCW PlayStation games during the 1990s. I liked WWF more, but it was a nice alternative.

Take me back to September 4, 1995

Let's take a stroll down memory lane.

It is Monday, September 4, 1995. Anyone born today will have the star sign Virgo. The weekend has just passed, so some people are feeling a bit down. Others are tired after partying too much.

Schools and colleges are starting again, and fall has officially arrived. As a result, temperatures are beginning to cool, and trees are starting to shed their leaves. People in the United States are currently celebrating Labor Day, symbolizing the end of summer 1995. In America, the song "Gangsta's Paradise" by Coolio is at the top of the singles charts, while "You Are Not Alone" by Michael Jackson is the number-one song in the UK.

Bill Clinton is the President of the United States, and the movie Mortal Kombat is at the top of the box office. John Major is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. A new form of communication called "text messaging" is starting to become more widespread. However, it can only be done if both the sender and the receiver are on the same cell network.

Meanwhile, a global system called "the Internet" is also starting to take off. Each day, more and more people are learning how to send emails and browse "websites" on the World Wide Web by connecting their IBM computers to noisy dial-up modems. In fashion, "grunge" clothing has fallen out of favor, and women are beginning to wear form-fitting outfits such as slip dresses and pencil skirts. Movies such as Clueless and The Craft have popularized the "sexy schoolgirl" look. The CD is quickly becoming the dominant format for music, and people are buying portable players such as the "Discman". Consequently, sales of cassette tapes are continuing to decline.

It's 1995, so radio stations are being dominated by the likes of Celine Dion, Everything but the Girl, Coolio, Oasis, Michael Jackson, Boyzone, Madonna, Montell Jordan, TLC and Mariah Carey. Former football player O.J. Simpson is currently being tried for the murder of his ex-wife and her friend. In Europe, a war is continuing to rage in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Following the recent shelling of the Sarajevo marketplace, NATO has decided to intervene. NATO forces are now carrying out a sustained air campaign against Serbian forces.

If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Yitzhak Rabin, Stretch, Roxie Roker, and Dean Martin would all still be alive. On TV, people are watching popular shows such as "Only Fools and Horses", "One Foot in the Grave", "Beavis and Butt-Head", and "Xena: Warrior Princess". Meanwhile, gamers are playing titles such as "Wario's Woods", "Theme Park", "Mortal Kombat 3", and "Command & Conquer".

Kids and teenagers are watching TV shows such as "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", "Are You Afraid of the Dark?", "Rocko's Modern Life", and "Street Sharks". Popular toys at the moment include the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive, Polly Pocket, Power Rangers figures, and Styrofoam plane gliders.
