Five days after Sega gave us the Dreamcast, Interscope gave us Ruff Ryders' first lady. Let there be Eve! I remember that day, my uncle had the CD when it was released. Eve is the best out of all femcees.

Take me back to September 14, 1999

Ready for a walk down memory lane?

It is Tuesday, September 14, 1999. Anyone born today will have the star sign Virgo. Schools and colleges are starting again, and fall has officially arrived. As a result, temperatures are beginning to cool, and trees are starting to shed their leaves.

In America, the song "Bailamos" by Enrique Iglesias is at the top of the singles charts, while "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega is the number-one song in the UK. Bill Clinton is the President of the United States, and the movie Stigmata is at the top of the box office. Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The CD is quickly becoming the dominant format for music, and people are buying portable players such as the "Discman". Consequently, sales of cassette tapes are continuing to decline. In fashion, bright and metallic colors are all the rage—a big change from the darker "grunge" colors of the early 1990s. Women are wearing maxi skirts, bell bottoms, knee boots, crop tops, tube tops, slip dresses, maxi coats, and platform shoes. Meanwhile, a lot of men have ditched their grunge and skater clothes in favor of a "dress casual" look. They are also beginning to cut their hair shorter. A relatively new form of communication called "text messaging" is becoming more widespread. Although the technology has been around since the mid-1990s, it was only recently that cell providers allowed users to send SMS messages to people on different networks.

It's 1999, so radio stations are being dominated by the likes of Cher, TLC, Monica, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Santana and Ricky Martin. The Nokia 3210 is currently one of the most popular cellphones on the market. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Wilt Chamberlain, Walter Payton, Big Pun, and Jim Varney would all still be alive.

On TV, people are watching popular shows such as "Party of Five", "JAG", "3rd Rock from the Sun", and "Will & Grace". Meanwhile, gamers are playing titles such as "Mission Impossible", "Crash Bandicoot: Warped", "Street Fighter Alpha 3", and "Ape Escape". Children and teenagers are watching television shows such as "Rugrats", "Johnny Bravo", "Recess", and "Dora the Explorer".

Popular toys at the moment include the Nintendo 64, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the Game Boy Color, and the Dreamcast.
