Take me back to January 10, 2004

Let's take a stroll down memory lane.

It is Saturday, January 10, 2004. Anyone born today will have the star sign Capricorn. People are currently enjoying their weekend.

The Christmas holiday season is long over, the decorations have been taken down, and a sense of normality has returned. In America, the song "Hey Ya" by Outkast is at the top of the singles charts, while "Mad World" by Michael Andrews & Gary Jules is the number-one song in the UK. George W. Bush Jnr. is the President of the United States, and the movie Return of the King is at the top of the box office.

Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. In technology news, more and more people are beginning to gain access to the Internet. Internet speeds are increasing and MP3 sharing is beginning to threaten the existence of music stores. People are using a software program called LimeWire to share music, software, and videos. Unfortunately, it is also a haven for computer viruses.

Smartphones don't exist yet. There are no Androids or iPhones. Cameras on phones are quickly becoming the norm. However, the photographs that they take are still lacking in quality. Internet users are using MSN Messenger and AIM to chat with each other online.

A flash animation of badgers singing "badger, badger, badger" has become a viral hit on the Internet. The animation, which loops indefinitely, was published by British animator Jonti Picking in September 2003. It's 2004, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of Usher, Alicia Keys, Maroon 5, OutKast, Mario Winans, the Terror Squad and Ciara. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Pat Tillman, Ronald Reagan, Ray Charles, and Marlon Brando would all still be alive.

On TV, people are watching popular shows such as "Angel", "Fear Factor", "Two and a Half Men", and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition". Meanwhile, gamers are playing titles such as "SSX 3", "True Crime: Streets of LA", "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time", and "Manhunt". Kids and teenagers are watching TV shows such as "Rugrats", "7th Heaven", "That '70s Show", and "ChalkZone".

Popular toys at the moment include the PlayStation 2, Bionicle LEGO, Namco TV Games, and Gogo My Walkin Pup.
