The day that the World Trade Center was destroyed. Thanks to Osama bin Laden, who, thank God, died in 2011. I remember Mom picking me up from school on that day when she heard that news. I was in 1st grade at the time. I saw that on the news when I got home, and I was crying when the World Trade Center was destroyed. I couldn't even watch TV that day. They even cancelled school for the rest of the week because of it.

Back then, I worked as a dental assistant, and that week was when I got back from maternity leave with my first child, Matthew. Seeing the news coverage that day was one of only two times that I ever saw my boss (who was in his mid-60s and used to love going to New York City whenever he had vacation time) cry at work.

I came home from school in the UK and watched it all unfold live on TV. I don't think it actually registered with me that I was watching thousands of people die right before my eyes. Yeesh.

I'm an '06 baby, but my mom was in college at the time, and when she told me about the attack. She first thought that it wasn't real and that it was something out of a movie trailer. I can only imagine how terrifying it must have been for people to see that.
