The day that the World Trade Center was destroyed. Thanks to Osama bin Laden, who, thank God, died in 2011. I remember Mom picking me up from school on that day when she heard that news. I was in 1st grade at the time. I saw that on the news when I got home, and I was crying when the World Trade Center was destroyed. I couldn't even watch TV that day. They even cancelled school for the rest of the week because of it.

Back then, I worked as a dental assistant, and that week was when I got back from maternity leave with my first child, Matthew. Seeing the news coverage that day was one of only two times that I ever saw my boss (who was in his mid-60s and used to love going to New York City whenever he had vacation time) cry at work.

I came home from school in the UK and watched it all unfold live on TV. I don't think it actually registered with me that I was watching thousands of people die right before my eyes. Yeesh.

I'm an '06 baby, but my mom was in college at the time, and when she told me about the attack. She first thought that it wasn't real and that it was something out of a movie trailer. I can only imagine how terrifying it must have been for people to see that.

What a tragic moment for all Americans. 9/11 will never be forgotten. It's crazy that Jay-Z released The Blueprint on that violent day when I saw the Twin Towers fall on CNN. Then, the Pentagon in Virginia was torn apart minutes later. Man, this was too much. All the victims and families whose lives we lost or were impacted, we will support you all. And to Jay-Z, thanks for such a hot classic.

My mother worked on one of the highest floors of the World Trade Center, but her water broke at 6 a.m., and we were at Bellevue Hospital. My mother told me she wished she could have held me in.

I was in college that day and I have never seen my professor break down and cry upon getting a phone call from a family member of his to turn on the TV as something had happened at the Pentagon.

Take me back to September 11, 2001

Ready for a walk down memory lane?

The date is September 11, 2001, and it's a Tuesday. Anyone born today will have the star sign Virgo. Schools and colleges are starting again, and fall has officially arrived. As a result, temperatures are beginning to cool, and trees are starting to shed their leaves.

In America, the song "I'm Real" by Jennifer Lopez is at the top of the singles charts, while "Mambo No. 5" by Bob the Builder is the number-one song in the UK. George W. Bush Jnr. is the President of the United States, and the movie The Musketeer is at the top of the box office. Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

On television, people are watching popular shows such as "The X-Files", "Stargate SG-1", "The King of Queens", and "Home Movies". A relatively new form of communication called "text messaging" is becoming more widespread. Although the technology has been around since the mid-1990s, it was only recently that cell providers allowed users to send SMS messages to people on different networks. In technology news, more and more music companies are beginning to release MP3 players. The new MP3 format means that music listeners are able to listen to multiple albums on the go.

Meanwhile, the Nokia 3310 is one of the most popular cellphones on the market at the moment. Stores across the world are currently selling a wide range of custom covers for the phone. It's 2001, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, OutKast, Crazy Town, Destiny's Child, Usher, Alicia Keys, Blu Cantrell and Jennifer Lopez. An outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom is causing a crisis in the British agriculture and tourism sectors. The authorities are killing cows and sheep in an effort to halt the disease.

The world is in a complete state of shock after the September 11 attacks, which brought down the World Trade Center and killed 3,000 people. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as George Harrison, Layne Staley, Left Eye, and Big Dick Dudley would all still be alive. People are playing video games such as "Colin McRae Rally 2.0", "FIFA 2001", "Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec", and "Pokémon Crystal".

Children and teenagers are watching television shows such as "Friends", "Batman Beyond", "The Brothers García", and "Jackie Chan Adventures". Children are playing with toys such as Groovy Girls, Harry Potter Trivia Game, Intelli Table, and Lincoln Logs.
