Take me back to May 26th, 2006!

Let's go back in time!

The date is May 26th, 2006, and it's a Friday. Anyone born today will have the star sign Gemini. Most people have "that Friday feeling" and are looking forward to the weekend.

The summer of 2006 has finally arrived. The weather has warmed up, and the evenings are brighter than usual. In the United States, it is the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. As a result, many Americans are looking forward to attending barbecues, picnics, and other outdoor events. In America, the song S.O.S. by Rihanna is at the top of the singles charts.

Over in the UK, Crazy by Gnarls Barkley is the number-one hit song. George W. Bush Jnr. is the President of the United States, and the movie X-Men: The Last Stand is at the top of the box office. Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

People are using a software program called LimeWire to share music, software, and videos. Unfortunately, it is also a haven for computer viruses. Smartphones don't exist yet. There are no Androids or iPhones. Internet users are using MSN Messenger and AIM to chat with each other online.

Cameras on phones have now become the norm. Furthermore, the quality of these cameras is continuing to increase with each new phone release. We are now entering an age where any event can be instantly photographed or recorded. Practically every teenager and adult has a MySpace or Bebo account. It's 2006, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of Daniel Powter, Sean Paul, Nelly Furtado, James Blunt, Gnarls Barkley, Shakira and Natasha Bedingfield.

If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Charles Haughey, Steve Irwin, Adrienne Shelly, and James Brown would all still be alive. On TV, people are watching popular shows such as "The Royle Family", "Scrubs", "The Shield", and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition". Meanwhile, gamers are playing titles such as "Gran Turismo 4", "Fight Night Round 2", "Shadow of the Colossus", and "Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories".

Children and teenagers are watching television shows such as "Drake & Josh", "Peppa Pig", "Everybody Hates Chris", and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". Popular toys at the moment include the PlayStation 2, Bratz dolls, VideoNow (portable player), and the PSP.
