"Hey Ya!" was THE song of 2003. It reminds me of that era whenever it plays on the radio. Shake it like a Polaroid picture!

Take me back to September 9, 2003

Let's take a stroll down memory lane.

The date is September 9, 2003, and it's a Tuesday. Anyone born today will have the star sign Virgo. Schools and colleges are starting again, and fall has officially arrived. As a result, temperatures are beginning to cool, and trees are starting to shed their leaves.

In America, the song "Shake Ya Tailfeather" by Nelly & P. Diddy is at the top of the singles charts, while "Where Is The Love" by The Black Eyed Peas is the number-one song in the UK. George W. Bush Jnr. is the President of the United States, and the movie Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star is at the top of the box office. Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

On television, people are watching popular shows such as "Futurama", "Angel", "Home Movies", and "Punk'd". In technology news, more and more people are beginning to gain access to the Internet. Internet speeds are increasing and MP3 sharing is beginning to threaten the existence of music stores. People are using a software program called LimeWire to share music, software, and videos. Unfortunately, it is also a haven for computer viruses.

Smartphones don't exist yet. There are no Androids or iPhones. Cameras on phones are quickly becoming the norm. However, the photographs that they take are still lacking in quality. It's 2003, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of 50 Cent, R. Kelly, Sean Paul, 3 Doors Down, Nelly, Evanescence, Chingy and Beyonce.

Internet users are using MSN Messenger and AIM to chat with each other online. A flash animation of badgers singing "badger, badger, badger" has become a viral hit on the Internet. The animation, which loops indefinitely, was published by British animator Jonti Picking in September 2003. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as John Ritter, Johnny Cash, Robert Kardashian, and Crash Holly would all still be alive.

People are playing video games such as "Medieval: Total War", "Ratchet & Clank", "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell", and "Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow". Kids and teenagers are watching TV shows such as "Friends", "CatDog", "Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids", and "That's So Raven". Children are playing with toys such as Gogo's Crazy Bones, the PlayStation 2, the Nintendo GameCube, and Micropets.
