Take me back to September 26, 2005

Let's go back to the 2000s.

It is Monday, September 26, 2005. Babies who are born today will have the star sign Libra. The weekend has just passed, so some people are feeling a bit down. Others are tired after partying too much.

Schools and colleges are starting again, and fall has officially arrived. As a result, temperatures are beginning to cool, and trees are starting to shed their leaves. The earthy smells of autumn have started to fill the air. In America, the song "Gold Digger" by Kanye West & Jamie Foxx is at the top of the singles charts, while "Don't Cha" by Pussycat Dolls is the number-one song in the UK.

George W. Bush Jnr. is the President of the United States, and the movie Just Like Heaven is at the top of the box office. Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. In technology news, more and more people are beginning to gain access to the Internet. Internet speeds are increasing and MP3 sharing is beginning to threaten the existence of music stores.

People are using a software program called LimeWire to share music, software, and videos. Unfortunately, it is also a haven for computer viruses. Smartphones don't exist yet. There are no Androids or iPhones. Internet users are using MSN Messenger and AIM to chat with each other online.

Cameras on phones have now become the norm. Furthermore, the quality of these cameras is continuing to increase with each new phone release. We are now entering an age where any event can be instantly photographed or recorded. Practically every teenager and adult has a MySpace or Bebo account. It's 2005, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Mario, Kelly Clarkson, 50 Cent, Kanye West and Ciara.

Satirical factoids about actor Chuck Norris are extremely popular at the moment. These "Chuck Norris Facts" consist of absurd hyperbolic claims about Norris' toughness. Actress Demi Moore and "That '70s Show" actor Ashton Kutcher have just been married at their home in Beverly Hills. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Tara Correa-McMullen, Rosa Parks, Eddie Guerrero, and Pat Morita would all still be alive.

On TV, people are watching popular shows such as "Stargate SG-1", "Smallville", "One Tree Hill", and "Pimp My Ride". Meanwhile, gamers are playing titles such as "The Sims 2", "Fight Night Round 2", "Lego Star Wars: The Video Game", and "Psychonauts". Children and teenagers are watching television shows such as "SpongeBob SquarePants", "The Backyardigans", "Johnny Test", and "Everybody Hates Chris".

Popular toys at the moment include Betty Spaghetty (doll), Barbie B-Book Laptop, Baby Annabell, and the Nintendo DS.
