This is wrong not only because of the Y2K bug, knowing when I was using a video camera, it said 01/01/1830. Man. Not only that, the millennium didn't actually begin in 2000, we did that as a warm up cause the 3rd millennium actually began in 2001. Nothing (millennium, century, decade) starts without the number 1, zero don't count.

Take me back to January 1, 2000

Let's take a stroll down memory lane.

The date is January 1, 2000, and it's a Saturday. Anyone born today will have the star sign Capricorn. It's New Year's Day, the official start of the year 2000 and a brand new decade. A lot of people are relaxing at home. Some are nursing hangovers from the night before.

In America, the song "Smooth" by Santana & Rob Thomas is at the top of the singles charts, while "I Have A Dream / Seasons In The Sun" by Westlife is the number-one song in the UK. Bill Clinton is the President of the United States, and the movie Stuart Little is at the top of the box office. Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

On television, people are watching popular shows such as "Walker, Texas Ranger", "Party of Five", "7th Heaven", and "The Royle Family". A relatively new form of communication called "text messaging" is becoming more widespread. Although the technology has been around since the mid-1990s, it was only recently that cell providers allowed users to send SMS messages to people on different networks. The Nokia 3210 is currently one of the most popular cellphones on the market.

Pokemon has become one of the most popular franchises in the world, as trading cards, toys and handheld games gross over one billion dollars. In celebrity news, Catherine Zeta-Jones and actor Michael Douglas have recently become engaged. In technology news, more and more music companies are beginning to release MP3 players. The new MP3 format means that music listeners are able to listen to multiple albums on the go.

It's the year 2000, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of Christina Aguilera, Faith Hill, Savage Garden, Destiny's Child, Santana, Sisqó, Creed, Aaliyah and Enrique Iglesias. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Big Pun, Jim Varney, Tom Landry, and David Tomlinson would all still be alive. People are playing video games such as "Silent Hill", "SimCity 3000", "Counter-Strike", and "Unreal Tournament".

Kids and teenagers are watching TV shows such as "Superman: The Animated Series", "Teletubbies", "The Angry Beavers", and "The Powerpuff Girls". Children are playing with toys such as Betty Spaghetty (doll), Dragonfly RC Stunt Racer, Rescue Heroes figures, and Eloise Doll.
