Take me back to March 31, 2014

Let's go back to the 2010s.

The date is March 31, 2014, and it's a Monday. Babies who are born today will have the star sign Aries. The weekend has just passed, so some people are feeling a bit down. Others are tired after partying too much.

Spring has arrived, and the days are starting to get longer. In America, the song "Happy" by Pharrell Williams is at the top of the singles charts, while "I Got U" by Duke Dumont featuring Jax Jones is the number-one song in the UK. Barack Obama is the President of the United States, and the movie Noah is at the top of the box office.

David Cameron is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. On television, people are watching popular shows such as "Prison Break", "The Killing", "The Goldbergs", and "True Detective (Season 1)". Video rental stores such as Blockbuster are continuing to close their doors at the moment. Sadly, it seems as though they will be unable to compete with online streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu.

A social networking website called Vine is extremely popular at the moment. It is 2014, so the music charts are being dominated by artists such as Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, John Legend, Iggy Azalea, Meghan Trainor, Lorde and Jason Derulo. People have started using the Internet slang phrase "sliding into your DMs" to describe the act of sending someone a private message.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 recently disappeared from radar and there has been zero trace of the missing aircraft despite a widespread search. Russia has annexed Crimea following a recent referendum. In response, Russia is suspended from the G8 inter-governmental political forum. In Ireland, Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan has resigned over the recent whistleblower row.

If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Peaches Geldof, The Ultimate Warrior, Bob Hoskins, and Skye McCole Bartusiak would all still be alive. People are playing video games such as "Minecraft", "Call of Duty: Ghosts", "Flappy Bird", and "Titanfall". Kids and teenagers are watching TV shows such as "Dora the Explorer", "Adventure Time", "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic", and "Teen Wolf".

Children are playing with toys such as HEXBUG Nano Hive, Rainbow Loom, Don't Rock The Boat, and the PlayStation 4.
