When did Speaker Knockerz die?

Underground rap star "Speaker Knockerz" died more than 9 years ago.

On March 4, 2014, the 19-year-old was found dead at his home in Columbia, South Carolina.

The coroner's report revealed that the rapper, whose real name was Derek McAllister, died from a heart attack.

The heart attack was triggered by an overdose of codeine syrup.

In southern hip hop culture, syrup is sometimes mixed with soda in order to create a dangerous and addictive "drug beverage" called "Lean" or "Purple Drank".

Speaker Knockerz's family became worried when they hadn't heard from him in a while. As a result, his father and the police carried out a welfare check at his home in Columbo.

When they entered the garage, they discovered McAllister's body.

At the time of his death, the 19-year-old was in talks with a number of record companies. Sadly, the talented young rapper never got to realize his full potential.
