Discussion about this date:
I was the first baby born in Tell City, Indiana (Perry County), on January 1, 1973. And everybody knows that the first baby born in each town or city each year is always put in the newspaper, wherever that may be, but not me. My mother was a very young teenager when she gave birth to me and wasn't married, so my name wasn't put in the paper at all. They could've at least listed me as being born, but it was like I wasn't even born to whoever did the newspaper thing. Anyway, it's crazy how much different it is now. Everything seems to be accepted nowadays. Even though I wasn't mentioned in the paper, someone still put a $100 savings bond in a little bank there for me. Then later on down the road, the bank closed down (the tiny little building still sits there to this day), and I never saw that savings bond. I have no idea what happened to it. It sure would be nice to have it now. But what can you do? Seeing all of this is pretty awesome, though. I like that I can ask Google what all was going on on this day, and it brought all this up for me to see. Thank you to whoever made this site, it made me feel good, and I learned a few things I didn't know even at 50 years old. Time sure does fly, enjoy life as much as possible.
