Take me back to October 23, 2004

Let's take a walk down memory lane.

The date is October 23, 2004, and it's a Saturday. Babies who are born today will have the star sign Scorpio. The work week is over and Saturday has finally come, so people are spending time with their kids, going to bars, shopping, playing video games, and watching sports.

The summer is long gone. Temperatures have become much cooler, and the evenings are beginning to get darker. There is a fresh, earthy scent in the air, and fallen leaves have carpeted driveways, lawns, pathways, and sidewalks. Halloween 2004 is quickly approaching and stores are selling costumes and decorations.

In America, the song "Goodies" by Ciara is at the top of the singles charts, while "Call On Me" by Eric Prydz is the number-one song in the UK. George W. Bush Jnr. is the President of the United States, and the movie Shark Tale is at the top of the box office. Tony Blair is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

On television, people are watching popular shows such as "The West Wing", "Malcolm in the Middle", "The Osbournes", and "Boston Legal". In technology news, more and more people are beginning to gain access to the Internet. Internet speeds are increasing and MP3 sharing is beginning to threaten the existence of music stores. People are using a software program called LimeWire to share music, software, and videos. Unfortunately, it is also a haven for computer viruses.

Smartphones don't exist yet. There are no Androids or iPhones. Cameras on phones are quickly becoming the norm. However, the photographs that they take are still lacking in quality. Internet users are using MSN Messenger and AIM to chat with each other online.

It's 2004, so the music charts are being dominated by the likes of Usher, Alicia Keys, Maroon 5, OutKast, Mario Winans, the Terror Squad and Ciara. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as ODB, Dimebag Darrell, Lamont Bentley, and Johnnie Cochran would all still be alive. People are playing video games such as "RuneScape", "Beyond Good & Evil", "Need for Speed: Underground", and "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone".

Children and teenagers are watching television shows such as "Caillou", "Kim Possible", "Teen Titans", and "Postcards from Buster". Children are playing with toys such as Bionicle LEGO, Justice League Figures, Cosmolight Alien Eggs, and Furreal Luv Cubs.
