Ren and Stimpy was that one show that some parents did not want their kids to be watching but I think we did anyway by sneaking around to watch it at friend's houses which I did on occasion.

The summer of 1991 is in full swing. The weather is warm, and the evenings are brighter than usual. Most schools and colleges are now finished until August or September. In Europe, the Soviet Union is continuing to dissolve. A photograph of pregnant actress Demi Moore posing naked on the cover of Vanity Fair is receiving a lot of attention from the media. A rock subgenre called "Grunge" is starting to rise in popularity.

In France, former Iranian Prime Minister Shapour Bakhtiar and his secretary have just been assassinated at his home in Suresnes, near Paris. The assassins are believed to have carried out the killings on behalf of the current Islamic regime in Iran. TV presenter Harry Reasoner has passed away at the age of 68 after suffering from a blood clot in the brain. A new cartoon series called "Rugrats" has just been aired on Nickelodeon for the first time. Meanwhile, another cartoon called "The Ren & Stimpy Show" has also been broadcast on the network for the first time.

If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Miles Davis, Freddie Mercury, Benny Hill, and Robert Reed would all still be alive. People are playing video games such as "Phantasy Star II", "Wing Commander", "Railroad Tycoon", and "The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants". Children and teenagers are watching television shows such as "The Care Bears", "Fireman Sam", "Roseanne", and "Beetlejuice".
