Discussion about this date:

Terrence

I was at the Kings of Leon concert in Slane in 2011. It's so crazy to think that it was more than 10 years ago. I remember that the walk back to the bus was so long. My feet were killing me after a day of standing around and it actually hurt just to walk... It could have been the cheap boots I was wearing 😂 It was so great when the Kings of Leon finally came on. They were at their peak back then.

People are attending picnics, barbecues, and other outdoor gatherings to mark the beginning of summer. People are using pre-made comics called "Rage Comics" to share funny and relatable experiences. It's 2011, so the music charts are being dominated by artists such as Adele, Maroon 5, LMFAO, Katy Perry, Rihanna and Bruno Mars. Democratic Party congressman Anthony Weiner has come under fire following reports that he sent a woman explicit photographs over Twitter. Weiner is denying that he sent the images.

Barcelona have won the 2011 UEFA Champions League after defeating Manchester United 3-1 in the final. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Ryan Dunn, Peter Falk, Betty Ford, and Roberts Blossom would all still be alive. On TV, people are watching popular shows such as "America's Next Top Model", "Dog the Bounty Hunter", "Breaking Bad", and "Modern Family".

Meanwhile, gamers are playing titles such as "Amnesia: The Dark Descent", "Call of Duty: Black Ops", "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood", and "Duke Nukem Forever".
